Our foster program saves lives and helps dogs and cats in need of a forever home. We do not have a shelter facility, so we rely on foster families to provide a temporary safe place for animals in our transport program. Most of our foster placements are short term (4 weeks) as pending transports. All necessities, such as: crates, food, vaccinations, any required medical care for a foster dog or cat, will be provided by BSN. Volunteers, are simply asked to provide love and much needed socialization. Our needs for foster placements include pregnant/nursing mom dogs/cats, puppy or kitten litters who have lost their mother and require bottle feeding, single puppies or kittens that need socialization and/or are too young for adoption, adult dogs and cats found as strays that need a safe place until a placement can be arranged with a rescue partner.

Trap-Neuter-Return – TNR Program
The person taking care of a cat group will usually be more successful trapping their own cats. The cats are familiar with their caretaker and are less likely to be wary of the traps. But there are situations where volunteers are needed to ensure the success of the TNR project. Elderly caregivers are able to provide food and shelter for outdoor cats but may be unable to lift a cat in a trap and transport it to our location in Clifton for their scheduled surgery. Experienced cat trappers are needed to help caregivers with large groups of cats or a situation where the cats are difficult to trap and advanced methods are needed. We provide all training and equipment. Knowing you are helping to provide a service that makes such a difference for the cats and their caregiver is a huge reward for your volunteer time.
If you are interested in volunteering for our TNR program call 254-253-6124.
